Regarding public contracting
- In the process of public contract awards, one of the major aspects in order to incorporate ecological criteria is respecting the principles of non-discrimination and transparency. No supplier should be preferred, while all of them should have access to the same information in order to be eligible with the same opportunities.
- In general, the specification sheets should include environmental criteria. Suppliers with an audited Environmental Manage System (EMS), whether ISO, EMAS or any other, should be preferred.
- To favour local suppliers, at equal prices and/or quality supplied. Both aspects, price and quality, are closely related with efficacy and efficiency, in resources assignment.
